The English version of this document is the controlling legal text.
This Policy lists activities that are not allowed on Wuri. Violations may lead to frozen funds, account closure, and reports to authorities or partners.
1. Purpose
Wuri must remain a safe, lawful payments network. This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) supplements the Terms of Service. Capitalised ideas share the same meaning as in the Terms.
2. Prohibited activities
You must not use Wuri, directly or indirectly, for:
- Fraud, phishing, social engineering, or obtaining money under false pretences.
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or structuring to avoid reporting/limits.
- Illegal drugs, weapons trafficking, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or child sexual abuse material.
- Stolen goods, counterfeit currency, or fencing proceeds of crime.
- Unlicensed gambling or other activities illegal in Nigeria or your location.
- Harassment, threats, or doxxing via payment references or support channels.
- Interfering with security, scraping without authorisation, or introducing malware.
- Using another person’s identity, documents, or account without lawful authority.
3. Agent and merchant standards
Agents and merchants must not process transactions for anonymous unknown third parties in a way that conceals the true payer/payee, must keep accurate records required by law, and must not coach customers to evade KYC or limits.
4. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations, freeze wallets, reverse or hold transactions where legally permitted, terminate accounts, and share information with banks, operators, and law enforcement.
You may contact support to contest an enforcement action; we are not obliged to restore access where risk remains.
5. Reporting
Report abuse or suspicious activity to support@wuriapp.com or legal@wuriapp.com.
